I started paper mache'ing hearts with my class today so I must have Valentine's Day on the brain. It came out in my outfit. It was a morning of trial and error trying to pair a top with this skirt and then getting tights that work with both. Finally, all of these items ended up on together and all was right :) But the paper mache...I started the project being fairly certain it was going to be a huge nightmare, chaotic and messy. Another teacher told me that trying it would drive me to drink. Paper mache with 31 10 year olds. But I am stubborn when I set my mind to something and went ahead. It was so wonderful! I had parents show up to help all day long.  My class did an amazing job and handled the mess and chaos better than I could have hoped. Happiness is fitting in art and scrapping the scantrons. :)

The weather this weekend was gorgeous. I spent a good deal of Saturday cooped up in my classroom, working on report cards. boo. But today I got out to enjoy a bit of my weekend in the sun. I went to the Alameda Antique Fair with my friend Deja. She is my antiquing buddy, always reminds me it is coming up and once there always down to share a giant bag of kettle corn with me. After a few hours spent wandering the rows and acquiring a fantastic sequin skirt, I trespassed (probably) and had way too much fun taking photos :) Lots of leaping was involved. I hope your weekend was equally as amazing. Bring it Monday, I'm ready for you.

Got home late and attempted to make indoor photos after dark work. Not the greatest but I just loved this monochromatic look. I actually wore this the first day of school but was unable to get a photo. 5 weeks later I am rotating back to it and was determined to get it online. Success. I had been totally inspired by the August JCrew catalog when it came out. The bold, bright colors, not a ton of patterns. Just color, all over the place.
