bump week 28 part 2

top: Motherhood Maternity
jeans: Old Navy
boots: Target
jacket: Forever 21

Week 28 again. I may be getting overzealous with the bump posts, or maybe I finally have leisure time for the first time in a long time. School starts back shortly and I imagine I will be overworked and exhausted again. Well, not exhausted. Since being pregnant I go to bed around 8:30 or 9, so I am not exhausted. But going to bed that early leaves no time for anything but my ridiculous 9-10 hour work day, dinner, and one episode of the Office before I am ready for bed. Jeremie tells everyone how I try to start dozing off on the couch around 7:30 and it's true some nights.

I will probably laugh at myself in a few weeks and take this back, but I have really been loving pregnancy. I have felt great and love the experience of growing and changing as our baby grows inside me. Granted I've been lucky thus far. Hardly any nausea in the first trimester and overall I have not had any difficult side effects or symptoms. Again, I am sure my days are numbered, but I am truly enjoying them.

nailed it!

 galaxy nail tutorial from MissJenFABULOUS

dress: H&M
button up: JCrew
tights: Kohl's
heels: Lela Rose for Payless

I have been having a hard time reconciling the temperature when I wake up and get dressed with what I know the temperature will be by 1 or 2 pm. It's so cold in the morning that I reach for as many layers as possible. And I need them. I need them all morning long. But then after noon the sun starts shining and it gets warm and I regret wearing a long sleeve button up under my dress.
I have to say, I nailed it with this combo. It's not for everyone I'm sure but I loved the mix of prints and colors.

denim vests at the office...not casual Friday

skirt: Target
button up: Old Navy
vest: Target
wedge heels: Old Navy

This outfit was the direct result of wanting to get more use out this vest. Denim vests were all over the place this spring and summer. Often worn with a maxi skirt or dress and definitely worn as part of a casual look, I want to try to wear mine with a work outfit. Granted not everyone will be able to get away with this kind of look at their place of work. That said, I thought it worked out well, giving a tweed skirt and button up a bit of an edge. By keeping the color palette in line with the shade of denim, it's not too much of a statement. Next time, I may try colors that the vest will stand out against.

Miss Car Washer

skirt: Banana Republic resale
top: JCrew resale
heels: Lela Rose for Payless clearance
tights: Sway (you can't tell but they are green)
necklace: Unpossible Cuts
Outfits like this one feel super teach-librarian like. Is it the glasses, the bun, the top buttoned all the way up, or perhaps the pencil skirt? I am thinking it is all of the above. Regardless, I am loving this kind of look even more than my go-to uber girly dresses and heels. I like the way this gorgeous, bib-style, lotus necklace (from Unpossible Cuts) looks over a buttoned up, button up. Even against a pattern like this plaid, to me, it's all about the necklace.
It is hard to believe how many of the shots I take end up with my eyes closed. I have a special talent there. And notice the 2nd photo. I had no idea that I could make a joker face. I don't think I could recreate that magic on command if I tried. Just wow. :)
On a completely unrelated note, this is NOT the ideal outfit to wear to the self service car wash. Not conducive to scrubbing and vacuuming my car at all. It did get lots of whistles though. Apparently, other people love the teacher-librarian look ;)
