lela rose and payless

skirt: Anthro clearance
sweater: Target clearance
belt: Old Navy sale
tights: Target
heels: Lela Rose for Payless clearance

Just a shot to show what my glasses are typically doing...falling down my nose. Didn't catch the daylight today but my sister's camera (that I am using) takes pretty good indoor shots with the flash.
Can I just say how much I love Lela Rose shoes for Payless. I typically do not buy Payless shoes. They are always unbelievably painful. Their heels are not near cute enough to endure that kind of pain. Within the last year or two, Payless hopped on the trend of having designer lines at budget prices. This may have been going on longer but it just came to my attention in that time frame. Lela Rose in the only line of theirs I like. Christian somethingorother, who won Project Runway a few years back, has a line with Payless but I don't care for it. Getting to the point...at $60 a pop, Lela Rose for Payless heels are not worth it, quality wise. The style is great but they are still pretty uncomfortable (Target heels are where it's at comfort + price). However, you can usually catch them on clearance. Then slip some insoles in and you are good to go!

Little Miss Teacher Maam

top: Old Navy
skirt: Anthropologie clearance
sweater: GAP clearance
belt: Target
wedges: Mia sale
necklace and pin: Unpossible Cuts

Week one is half way over and i am surviving. Heck, I'm thriving! I love my new class and I love my new grade level. I was so worried that such a big change (from 1st and 2nd to 5th) would kill me or I would just plain suck. Now that things are going I am feeling so much better. I always know I am in my dark place whenI stop posting b/c if I am not posting it's b/c I am busy and stressed out. Once life and I calm down, I jump right back in.

Beauty

skirt: Anthro clearance
button up: Pac Sun
platforms: Jeffery Campbell from Nordstrom Rack
belt, earrings: Target

Confession. I love the show Glee. Love love. I just finished watching last night's episode on Hulu. It was on accepting the parts of you that you hate. Well, I have a very noticible mole on my face, by my mouth. I've had it forever and I hated it growing up. Oh, I was so self conscious about it and dreamed of having it removed when I grew up. This was the late 80s early 90s and adults would tell me that it was like the supermodel Cindy Crawford. I would just think to myself, "Yeah and it's ugly on her too" I can remember my dad telling me that they are beauty marks and they show up on your body to mark where you are beautiful. I still hated it.
The thing is, people are right. As I grew up I accepted my beauty mark and even like how it makes me different. Some things you just figure out in time.

Inspired by: Lulu Letty

As you may have noticed, some of the outfits in these inspiration posts look like an outfit the mentioned blogger wore. Other times, it may be just a feel that their style has that inspires me. This week I was scrolling back through Maria of Lulu Letty's outfits and was struck by one thing... the almost prim and proper look some of her outfits have. All of the buttons done up, the tailoring of her clothes. She looks like such a lady :) She always looks so put together.

With that in mind I put together a little outfit all my own. This ridiculously ruffled skirt, an ancient yellow pearl snap button up (I buttoned up one more button than I normally would...tip of the cap to Maria), a proper little cardigan, and then I went and got all sassy with these Jeffery Campbell platforms that I got and have been dying to wear. I wasn't sure they were appropriate for school so today was a test drive.

Now this is not really prim or proper but I felt like a little lady clomping around the halls today.

surprisingly comfortable after 9 hours on my feet

focus!!!!!

Sorry for the blurry pictures. I take the photos myself using a nifty, little tripod thing that my roommate gave me. I take the photos in the morning as I am leaving for work. More often than not I am running late and just don't have time to fiddle with the camera. Eventually I will learn how to take decent pictures. Until then bear with me :)

I have seen people take amazing pictures with a simple digital camera but I have no idea how they do it. I imagine there must be a book of website out there titled: How to Make the Most of a Point and Shoot for Dummies. It's on my to do list to google that.

I bought this frilly, poofy, fancy skirt on clearance at Anthropologie. (side note: I adore everything in that store and wish I had money to burn so I could buy something from there that is not on clearance). I saved the receipt and kept the tags on it because I was unsure if I would be able to make it work. I played dress up a few times before trying this chambray shirt dress. It keeps the outfit from being too fussy. These ankle boots are a few years old and I go back and forth on whether or not I like them. meh. I have a new pair of ankle boots due to arrive any day from Seychelle's. My first pair of Seychelle shoes!!! happy dance!!!!!
