laugh til I cry

 dress: Sway
bandeau: Forever 21
cardigan: GAP sale
Hella and State Love necklaces, Sacred Heart ring: Unpossible Cuts
Hawk wedges: Seychelles

I have almost sold this dress several times. In the end, each time I didn't because it has such unique details that I felt like it is a dress to hang on to. I finally bought one of those little lace bandeau tops to go under super low cut tops like the neckline of this dress. Modesty preserved. :)
I wore this to lunch with the amazingly, talented guys behind Unpossible Cuts. They are responsible for the beautiful necklaces I wear constantly. I picked up a few new pieces, including the gold stained, wooden, sacred heart ring I am wearing above. I did a photo shoot for them right when they were launching their website last summer and they asked me to model for them again. I get so self conscious posing when an actual person is holding the camera. I prefer my self timer any day but they will undoubtedly make me laugh until I cry and I'll forget to be shy eventually.

poor choices

dress: vintage
cardigan: GAP sale
wedges: Dolce Vita for Target

This outfit was the worst possible choice I could have made. The one day I don't check the weather on my phone! THE ONE DAY! That's the day it rains like mad! I froze my butt of and got soaked repeatedly. Poor, poor choice. On a warm, sunny day, this would have been perfect! Rainy, cold day...not so much :(

yellow? satin? pleats? yes please!

Oh Monday, you little sneak, how did you get here so fast? Seriously, this weekend flew by. Rather than slinking into the week groggy, messy and bitter. I sashayed in pleats a-swingin, platforms a-clompin, Starbucks in hand. This skirt is another purchase from a month ago that has yet to see the light of day. It was on clearance and I have kept it in the back of my mind, not quite sure how I wanted to wear it. Platforms were a must and considering how much I've been wearing bright primary colors, a blue cardigan and blue polka dot blouse called out to me.

Casual Friday

I was not planning to wear anything worth posting today. Casual friday at work doesn't really inspire me. But I got dressed and ended up really liking how this casual look came together. maybe it's the side bun, which has now become my go-to updo. Or this new coral necklace. Or even these newish cords, that I forgot I had. I love it when that happens. You think your outfit is going to be "meh" and it ends up "wow".

still finding my groove

My little blog is still pretty new and I am still trying to find my rhythm. Taking pictures and posting daily is my goal. I just haven't gotten there yet. Even when I do take pictures I don't always get them up.
So here I am, yet again, playing catch up. Loser.
me, not you :)

Saturday was a farmers market, shopping with the roommate day. I intended to buy Christmas gifts but instead went ape shit crazy at the mall. All those sales on clothes and it's so much easier to buy for myself. I know exactly what I want! Boo me! In my defense, I had immediate buyers remorse and returned most of it the next day. Having come to my senses, I then bought Christmas gifts as I originally planned. it was just a temporary leave of my senses. This tends to happen in close proximity to clothing.

That being said, I am officially on a shopping freeze...for myself and clothes. I have enough...for now.

Where's Waldo?

I was told today that this outfit reminded them of Where's Waldo. Ummm, pretty sure that was not a compliment. haha! You can't please everyone. I felt like wearing some bright colors today. Actually, I really just wanted to wear this blue cardigan. It has an odd shape but, you know, you throw a belt around anything, add some tights and viola! That's been my formula for the past few months.

I obviously did not look outside this morning when getting dressed. I opened the door to leave and immediately regretted my choice of wedge sandals with tights. Not smart! However, I rarely factor in the weather when getting dressed. I usually wear what I feel like wearing, appropriate or not. I somehow managed to make it to school and home without drenching my feet! Take that rainy Wednesday!
