bump week 28

28 weeks have come and gone. I am a bit later in posting these as I just started 29 weeks today and I took these photos this past week.

For the most part this has been such a warm winter break! Christmas was in the 70s, but the day I wore this, the temperature dropped. I was definitely under dressed and cold. I have been wearing these boots every single day. They have a thick heel, but not too high. Flat shoes have hurt my feet lately, so I've prefered to have a bit of a heel for comfort. I imagine my feel will start swelling one of these days and I won't be able to wear most of my shoes anymore. I'll enjoy my heels while I can :)

I have one more set of photos from week 28 that I will post shortly.

bump week 27

dress: Old Navy maternity
vest: unsure of brand from Paperline Boutique
scarf: Target
ankle boots: Kohl's

This is the very end of week 27 and I think my second trimester. I read conflicting information on which week the third trimester begins, but I think it's week 28.

I am on winter break for the next week and a half and so far it's been so nice! We celebrated Christmas, no we hosted Christmas in our new house last weekend. With our mismatched, hand-me-down furniture, we barely fit everyone, but it was so wonderful having our parents and most of our siblings under one roof. We opened a mountain of presents, cooked together, and ate too much. I can't think of a better way to spend Christmas.

Since then, I have had a string of lazy days spent at home. Though my rapidly growing belly frequently causes me to reach for comfortable clothes and pajamas, when I do get dressed for real, I reach for this dress. It's great for layering and comfortable. I love these boots and vest for the same reason, comfortable and versatility.

bump week 26

dress: Old Navy
cardi: Target
tights: Target
booties: Tom's

I am definitely feeling MUCH bigger and looking much bigger too. This dress was probably the last non-maternity purchase I made, thinking it would accommodate my growing belly. It does accommodate but I wouldn't say it's very forgiving. It's a whole lot of plaid.

I honestly didn't care for this look. There is a reason to buy maternity clothes. Even though this dress is long enough and big enough, it just didn't fit properly and as a result I felt uncomfortable in it. I am at the end of my second trimester and it's hard to believe I am just going to get bigger.

Overall, I feel very lucky. People constantly ask how I am feeling and I have felt great throughout. I haven't been sick or uncomfortable at all. If my clothes not fitting is my biggest problem, I count myself fortunate.

bump week 25

So...lots has happened and lots of time has gone by. 2015 brought many ups, as well as some of the hardest moments of my life. I am not going to go into detail, but we got through it and 2016 is almost over and has brought even more changes and more ups and downs. The biggest, most obvious celebration is getting pregnant with our first baby.

Dressing this alien body has been weird to say the least. Thanks to generous hand-me-downs and amazing sales at Old Navy, I am finally having days where I don't feel like a total frump. Pajamas and all things stretchy still win out once the weekend hits but during the week when I have places to be, I am beginning to enjoy getting dressed again. Having an undeniable bump helps.

As you can see, I still have a ways to go before I fully stretch this maternity dress to capacity, but there is definitely a baby in there.

a reminder

boots: Lauren Conrad clearance
skirt: Target clearance
top: Anthro clearance
neacklace: Isis Soundwaves by Unpossible Cuts
Sunglasses: Walgreens
I debated including any text because how often can I make excuses for not blogging. Since moving to Texas, my life has so dramatically changed from the life I had built in the Bay Area. I am still wondering if blogging was just a phase of my late 20s-early 30's, and it doesn't fit into the new life I have been creating in Texas.

I don't have an answer to this, but taking photos, editing, and posting today felt good. It reminded me why I used to blog. It reminded me of how blogging shaped that period of my life and the person I have become.

real clothes

maxi dress: Target
chambray button up: Old Navy
Sweater: Old Navy
boots: Simply Vera Wang at Kohl's
necklace: Premier Jewelry

Winter Break is here and I am so excited. Never mind that I have bronchitis. Never mind that I am taking a delightful trifecta of prescription steriods, antibiotics, and inhaler. Never mind that said medication does not make me feel so great. Nothing can bring me down! This outfit is very deceptive in that it makes you think that I have actually been getting out of the leggings and XL flannel shirt I have been wearing all weekend (I haven't). But a trip to grocery store clearly merits real clothes and a mini photoshoot. I get fancy for Whole Foods.

This time way back when...#2

This time 2010, I was brand new to blogging and the Bay Area layering. This was the beautiful start to many years of dressing in far too little clothing when the weather turned cold.
This time in 2011, I was living in the city and rocking a snuggly, taupe wrap my Aunt Kathryn had given me as a gift. Where has that thing gone??

This time 2012 the weather was unseasonably warm and I had unearthed a crop top from high school and was showing alittle skin.

This time 2013, I collected and posted online photographic evidence of several bad choices. The lipstick, the outfit, the boots, the hair. Yikes!

Thanks for looking back with me!
