heidi

dress: Target clearance
fur collar: H&M
tights: Old navy
Jeffery Campbell platforms
necklace: gift
jacket: GAP clearance
belt: H&M

I am very excited that I learned how to automatically have pictures post with a uniform width. Sadly, it only highlights how mediocre my camera phone is. sigh.

I felt like I should be yodeling and climbing a mountain with a goat. Between the hair and the fur and the sweet, demure dress...this outfit was a bit costume-y, which I like. It's hard to tell with these crappy photos but the tights have little red polka dots on them. There is no way I was going to not like this outfit...polka dots, pleats, sheer. Oh how I love girly details!

new favorites

coat: GAP sale
fur collar: H&M
belt: Old navy sale
jeans: Target
Romance boots: Seychelles

This coat was actually an exchange. My mom got me clothes from GAP for Christmas and a few items didn't fit. When I went to exchange them I instead found this gorgeous navy coat on massive clearance. I love it belted with this "fur" collar. This may be my new favorite thing to wear. I am not a pants person but I love this look. Now San Francisco needs to actually get cold enough for me to wear this. The day I wore this, it was so warm and I was forced to lose the coat and collar before noon. I would like the sunny weather to stick around until after my sister leaves. She is coming this weekend through Tuesday and has brought the rain just about every time she has been to visit. I am hoping this time the sun holds out.

Inspired by: Orchid Grey II

skirt, belt, shoes: Target
tights: Kohl's
sweater: GAP clearance
fur collar: H&M

This translation would be be called more literal I'd say. As in, I am just straight up recreating one of my favorite outfits Julie of Orchid Grey has worn. I tried once before and wasn't trying to recreate it, just used it as inspiration and I HATED the way it turned out. Now months later, it is still one of my favorite looks so I just had to copy it. There, I said it. I copied her look. I hesitated a half second because of the length and style of the skirt. Not what I would normally wear to teach. But I decided that the opaque tights drew attention away from the shortness and the fur collar added a more mature dimension in contrast to the girlie-ness of a pink ballerina skirt. Once I got to school, I felt totally comfortable. I don't think it was inappropriate at all.

I am so glad I finally got around to wearing this. Such a fun outfit!

as the sun peaks out

jacket, pants: Old Navy Clearance
boots: Steve Madden clearance
sweater: GAP clearance
blouse: Nordstrom Rack cleanace

I have to say this weather is KILLING me! Ugggggghhhhhh! I wish the rain and gloom would give it a rest! I am so tired of being cold. Tired of sleeping in my Uggs. I'm over it. Unfortunately the forecast for the week says that it hates me because the rains gonna keep on coming. So here is me embracing the cold, drizzily weather. Boots, pants, layers, "fur". Okay, I give in. This is me wearing something appropriate. Suck it rain.

fuzzy collar and sleek hair

Christmas shopping the final frontier happened today. I am thrilled to say that I am done, done, done!

I was torn between feeling fabulous and feeling ridiculous today in this fur collar. I've admired it on other people and having been wanting to try it myself. I like it. This dress is an old target that I've worn quite a bit over the past few years. I've been over it lately until I saw a woman wearing it yesterday and decided to pull it out again. It's a pretty dress but can easily go wrong. The color can look drab and the cut borders on juvenille. I brightened it up with this marigold cardigan. I am not happy with the tights but didn't have any other clean options. I ended up turning down the cuff on the boots after I left the house.

Also, new haircut. I am still not liking it. I was quite happy with my shaggy, fuzzy, over grown haircut I had. I liked that it didn't look fussy and I liked my too long, fall in my eyes bangs. But it has been 9 months since my last haircut and I figured a trin was in order. i should have been more specific about what i wanted. i feel like I have a whole new hairstyle :( Granted I have gotten a ton of compliments on it over the past two days. I'm just not a fan. I do have a tendancy to hide behind frumpiness. Sometimes frumpy clothing, sometimes my glasses, sometimes scraggly hair. And now my hairdresser has dragged me kicking and screaming into this polished stylish (supposedly) haircut. I'll probably thank him one day. But as of now I am still lamenting the loss of my messy mop of hair.
